ricardo.ch AG was founded in November 1999 under the name auktion24.ch in Baar (ZG) and has been part of the ricardo Group since 2008. Currently, 2 million members trade goods worth over CHF 660 million annually, making ricardo.ch the largest Swiss online marketplace. Every day, members sell an average of 20,000 items.
There are 700,000 ongoing offers (auctions and fixed-price offers) on ricardo.ch, around 100,000 vehicles and 35,000 vehicle accessories on autoricardo.ch, and over 2.5 million branded items on ricardoshops.ch. ricardo.ch employs 140 people in Zug; including a large number of specialized e-commerce experts and customer service staff.
The goal for ricardo.ch was to create a central, account-oriented consolidation of customer data and reporting. For autoricardo.ch, an app was provided to optimize sales routes.
ec4u expert consulting ag was selected by ricardo.ch AG as a partner for the integration of the Salesforce Sales Cloud. Before salesforce.com was added to the data warehouse, marketing and sales staff had to specify the various pieces of information about their key accounts in different places in the system.
This way, for example, sales can provide management with graphical reports at the click of a mouse – for weekly status, the current forecast or sales territory successes.
Overall, customers can now be served much more closely and appropriately, resulting in more efficient collaboration between ricardo.ch and its power sellers.
In addition, since autoricardo.ch’s sales force was increasingly confronted with long journeys in its acquisition and support of garage owners, which were unstructured and unplanned and thus inefficient, there was a great need for route planning. This was provided by ec4u in the form of an app that not only allows routes to be planned in advance, but also replaces a navigation system and makes even ad hoc visits due to appointment cancellations or postponements child’s play.
